South End Park Input Meeting

The City of Bath has funds available to improve the South End Park and seeks public input before making any decisions.

Fall 2014

A public input meeting was held at 6:00pm on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Maine Maritime Museum (243 Washington Street). The facilitated meeting was open to all residents, park users, and interested persons.  At the meeting, attendees learned of the general possibilities and constraints regarding what could be done with the Park, and offered ideas, suggestions, and opinions about how the Park should optimally be used and/or improved.

A summary of the meeting can be reviewed here.

Spring 2014

Since the fall meeting, City Staff have developed a few options for the Park’s future. The options will be presented to the public on April 2, 2015. After the public considers the choices, a final recommendation will be developed by City Staff for City Council consideration.

The Parks and Recreation Department and the Planning Department invite you to an open house to review conceptual designs for improvements at the park.  Please drop-in to the Basement Conference Room at City Hall (55 Front Street) on April 2, 2015, between either 2:00pm – 4:00pm or 5:30pm- 7:00pm.  No formal presentations will be made; the concept plans will be available for your review and comment.  Come-and-go as you please!

Your participation at this open house will provide City Councilors with input on which improvements should be constructed in the coming summers.

Please invite your neighbors, friends, and family members—everyone is welcome.

No significant changes will be made without City Council consideration and final approval.
