91 Court Street

The City of Bath is soliciting sealed bids for the purchase of property at 91 Court Street, designated as Lot 090, on City of Bath Tax Map 28. The property, according to the Assessor’s records, is approximately .05 acres in size, with a single-family residence and is serviced by City sewer and Bath Water District water.

 Bids will be received by the City of Bath at the City Manager’s Office, 55 Front Street, Bath, Maine, 04530, until noon local time on Friday, June 10, 2022. At that time and place, the bids will be publicly opened and read. Each bid must also include bidder’s name, mailing address and phone number and must be accompanied by a deposit in the form of a certified check or money order, in an amount equal to or greater than 10% of the bid price. Each successful bidder’s deposit will be credited to the total purchase price for that parcel. Deposits will be returned to the unsuccessful bidders. Any bid which does not contain the proper deposit will be rejected. Please bid in a sealed envelope marked 91 Court Street bid.

 The property will be sold by Municipal Quit-Claim Deed. The bid price, together with Buyer’s customary closing costs, will be due at closing. The bid price shall be good for a ninety (90) day period after the final bid date noted above. Minimum bid is $46,345.

 The successful bidder shall be responsible to establish any tenant-owner relationship or to evict any and all occupants of the purchased tax-acquired property and shall in writing, forever indemnify and save harmless the municipality from any and all claims arising out of the sale of the tax-acquired property brought by the occupants of the purchased property or their heirs or assigns.

 The City of Bath reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to accept any bid that it may deem to be in its best interests, including the right to negotiate additional terms and conditions as may be appropriate and in the City’s interest, with any particular bidder. Terms of sale require that the successful bidder make improvements to the property in order to make the property Code compliant, and within a reasonable time frame to accomplish those improvements.
