April 2, 2022

Three officers were recognized by the American Legion, District 8, for Outstanding Public Service, for their roles in November of 2021 when they successfully de-escalated an intoxicated, weapon-wielding subject, who wanted to fight with officers.  This incident could have involved the use of deadly force and officers showed remarkable professionalism and control in apprehending this subject safely.  The officers were: Corporal Ryan Kaake, Officer Kevin Santora, and Officer Andrew Miner.
