The beauty of the Mid-Coast region is inspirational and is home to hundreds of artists, art stores, workshops and galleries. The Bath area has a wide range of year-round art galleries and art shows as well as seasonal craft fairs and antique shows, including of course the famous Art in the Park at the Bath Library Park during Heritage Days.
Downtown Bath holds a surprising number of studio spaces, many of them on the second and third floors of Front Street, and they often welcome walk-ins! A number of our restaurants hold gallery openings and display local artists, and the Kennebec Art Club and the Chocolate Church both sponsor regular art shows with local artists throughout the year.

Five Rivers Arts Alliance is a local non-profit whose mission is to connect regional arts, culture and heritage through advocacy, education, promotion and celebration. They organize and sponsor numerous arts events throughout the year, including Bath's "Third Friday Artwalk" from May through October and "May Arts in the Park". Their region includes twelve communities in Midcoast Maine: Bath, Brunswick, Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Harpswell, Topsham, Richmond, West Bath, Phippsburg, Woolwich, Arrowsic, and Georgetown.
Maine Maritime Museum and Shipyard is located on the west bank of the Kennebec River. It exhibits and interprets more than 400 years of regional maritime history.
The Chocolate Church Center for the Arts is housed in a glorious 1846 wooden Gothic church. It offers a large menu of programs: art exhibits, dramatic and musical productions, youth theatre, comedy, jazz, classical and folk artists, quality children's programs, etc. from around the region and around the world.
Sagadahoc Preservation Inc. is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to the preservation of buildings possessing architectural or historic merit. SPI's present and future mission is to preserve and maintain the Bath area's (Bath, Maine, USA) fine architectural heritage through the creation of a historic district commission, the promotion of stewardship, and the use of protective covenants. One of SPI's goals is to continue educational programs on architectural heritage in Bath's schools and to provide an architectural awareness to all. They also sponsor a self-guided walking tour of Bath and an annual guided walking tour of Bath historic houses is conducted during Heritage Days.
The Bath Historical Society was incorporated in 1989 by a small group of Bath citizens. The goal of the Society is the collection and preservation of local history, including genealogy, and the sharing of these resources.
