Gateway One

Gateway 1 is a transportation and land use planning process for the Route 1 corridor, from Brunswick to Stockton Springs.  The goal of the process is to retain the capacity of the highway and to retain the qualities of the cities, towns, and villages along the highway.  Bath and the other Gateway 1 municipalities are expected to adopt the Gateway 1 Plan and to amend land use regulations to implement the plan.  This needs to be done to qualify for any MaineDOT funding for major projects that are not safety improvements and not maintenance projects.  The plan is available at www.gateway1.org or can be read here in the Planning Office.  Feel free to read it and send any comments to Jim Upham, Planning Director.
