Printable Version - Bike to Work Week

May 15, 2017 - May 19, 2017 (7:00 AM)

The City of Bath Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee and the League of American Cyclists, the national organization for bicyclists, announce that May is National Bike Month, May 15th – 19th is Bike to Work Week and Friday, May 19th is Bike to Work Day.

If you need a bit of incentive to get you riding to work, here are some things to consider:

On Friday, May 19th the Bath Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee wishes to invite area folks to join them for an early morning ride around Bath in recognition of Bike to Work Day. Riders will depart from the Bath YMCA at 7:00am for a 6.5 mile cruise around the north end of the city, with a pause at City Hall, and maybe an opportunity get a coffee and treat from a downtown business. The route has some moderate hills, but nothing too strenuous. Participants must wear a helmet, preferably high visibility clothing and a bike in good operating condition. Registration is not required, just show up.

As an added incentive for folks participating on the May 19th ride there will be a raffle for a basic bike tune up,  generously donated by Bath Cycle and Ski located on Route 1 in Woolwich.  For more information contact Kevin Shute at 844-2801.
