On Wednesday, April 2 at 6:30pm, Phippsburg resident Art Charles will talk about his journey along the Camino de Santiago in Spain. Recently retired from running an international school in Beirut, the author set out with his wife in late spring of 2007 to walk the Camino de Santiago in what proved to be a journey not only across the landscape of northern Spain but into the lives of many of the pilgrims he encountered along the way. The presentation will cover his four-week, 700-kilomater trek from Pamplona in Basque country along the Camino Frances to its terminus in the cathedral town of Santiago de Compostela, the destination of thousands of pilgrims since medieval times, and will offer details of what a modern pilgrim can expect.
