General Assistance Information

General Assistance meetings are by appointment only. Please call 443-8335 to leave a message with you name and a phone number where we can reach you.

Hours:

Monday: 8:30-4:30 (unless Monday is a holiday; those days we will make every effort to schedule Tuesday morning hours. Please call to confirm this)
Wednesday: 8:30-12 Noon
Thursday: 1:00-4:30 PM

GA staff checks voicemail Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and will return calls on those days after meeting with customers.

Please note that residents must make an appointment and qualify for general assistance to receive fuel during heating season. Deliveries will not be made after hours or on weekends or considered an emergency. Customers must watch their tanks, and make an appointment in advance and qualify for assistance before fuel will be delivered.

General Assistance allows heating assistance during the months of September-May of each year. Anyone wishing to receive heating assistance through general assistance must call 443-8335 in advance and schedule an appointment with the administrator. Appointments are scheduled only during hours listed above. Please note that running out of oil after hours is not considered an emergency, and no “after-hours” deliveries will be available. Customers must watch their oil tanks and call in advance so staff can determine regular eligibility.
