During the months of September and October, the 12th Annual Community Forest Photography contest took place.  This year’s contest hosted a generous number of entrants and entries, with the good proportion of entrants from surrounding communities.  Fourteen adult entrants and seven student entrants submitted fifty-three photos to be judged!

The three top winners in the Adult category were: First Prize, repeat winner Mr. David Boyle, with “Moss Grows on the North Side of Getchell Street”; for Second Prize, Ms. Susan Seaman, with ‘Guardian of the Winnegance”; Ms. Tiffany M. Fuqua, with “Hangin' On”.  The Judges awarded an Honorable mention to Ms. Anne Krebsbach with “Colors”.

The three top winners in the Student category were: First Prize, repeat winner Ms. Ellin Haie with "Fog"; for Second Prize, Mr. David Brann with “The Old Tree at the Cemetery”; and Ms. Michelle Campbell with “Up”.  The Judges awarded an Honorable mention to Ms. Isabel Doran with “Cloud Bush”.

Hearty congratulations to all our winners and their wonderful efforts, which will be on display until the New Year in the Children’s Room at the Patten Free Library, and also to the rest of this year’s adult entrants: Eleanor McKinnon; Virginia Campbell; Lauri Andrews; Anne Page; Barbara Leeman; Candalene Sutherland; Lois Dole; Norma Puffer; Alice Rivero; Debra Wilkey; and Aili Amundsen: and this year’s student entrants: Sam Leeman; Arielle Leeman; and Hannah Leeman.

Thanks to you all!

We were very fortunate to have had so many supportive and giving community members.  The Committee would like to acknowledge and thank Gordy Merrill at Skillin’s Greenhouses, Tom York of York’s Hardy Rhododendrons, and everyone at Bull Moose Music, Mike Doucette of Just Framing, Bart & Greg’s DVD Explosion, Keith Emery of Beale Street Barbeque, and Mike Fear & Vanessa Mayer of Now You’re Cooking! And Aaron Park of Henry & Marty’s for all of their generous donations of prizes; Bath City Hall Clerk’s Office staff for providing help with materials; Pam Allen, Mike Mahan, Roger Duncan and Andreas von Huene for their most difficult jobs of serving as judges; and the wonderful staff in the Children's Room at the Patten Free Library, for providing in-put for the contest and the space to award and display the winning images, as well as for their continual support.  A huge thanks to you all, too!

The Bath Community Forestry Committee greatly enjoys providing this opportunity to connect people from all over with the beautiful and diverse green-spaces that make up our fair city. Keep enjoying

Bath’s urban forest!
