Finance Department Homepage

The Finance Department is responsible for the smooth cycling of money, into the city’s system through citizen’s municipal taxes and fees, and back out to the public in the form of services and assistance. The Finance Department is located on the first floor of the City Hall and encompasses the Tax Collector/Treasurer’s Office and the Finance Office. Employees in the department report directly to the Finance Director.

Notes from the Finance Department:

Drop Boxes
- The City Treasurer’s Office has two drop boxes for customers who do not want to wait in line or cannot make office hours. These are located inside the City Hall on the first floor, and outside on the North side entrance of the building. We hope this will help customers pay their property taxes or other City bills with ease.

Vehicle Registration- For easy car registration, use the "Rapid Renewal Vehicle Registration" link in the Departments menu.

Convenience Fees - the City of Bath offers the convenience of accepting credit cards for payment. A third party convenience fee will now apply to cardholders who wish to pay via credit card. This fee is required in order to allow the City the option to accept payments via credit card. This fee will be 2.45% of the payment ($1.50 minimum). Such fees will be disclosed to the cardholder at the time of the transaction with the option to decline the fee and make payments via cash or check.

In accordance with Visa regulations, we can accept Visa for real estate and personal property tax payments ONLY (not vehicle registrations, etc). A flat fee of $3.95 applies to all the tax payments made using Visa Debit.

To process convenience fees, the City uses Nationwide Payment Solutions; an authorized Level 1 PCI-DSS third-party processor of regulated fees.
