This is a full-time temporary position with potential for long term employment and performs a variety of semi-skilled work in sanitary landfill operations under the guidance and direction of the Director of Solid Waste and Recycling. The position maintains daily operations of waste disposal and ongoing closure-related activities of the landfill; operates heavy equipment such as compactors, bulldozers, backhoes, front-end loaders, and specialized landfill equipment. Preferred candidate has a valid State CDL license; high school diploma or GED; one year of equipment operation or landfill experience; and working knowledge of sanitary landfill operations, requirements, and safety issues.
