  •  “This is the most people we’ve had at a groundbreaking…I don’t think we’ve ever had a community more welcoming than Bath. We’ve had people stopping by (at the construction site) and thanking us for the project, and we’re trying to be good developers as well. Part of our desire is to be part of the community here,” said Sean Riley, Chief Operating Officer of Maine Course Hospitality, developer of the Hampton Inn in Bath.

The site is within the Pine Tree Zone designated by the State of Maine. The Pine Tree Development Zone (PTDZ) legislation supports new "qualified business activity" in Maine by offering manufacturers, financial service businesses and targeted technology companies the chance to greatly reduce, or in some cases virtually eliminate state taxes for a period up to ten years.

Eligible businesses include firms engaged in manufacturing, financial services, and any of the state's seven targeted technology sectors: biotechnology, aquaculture and marine technology, composite materials technology, environmental technology, advanced technologies for forestry and agriculture, information technology and precision manufacturing technology.
