The site is within the Pine Tree Zone designated by the State of Maine. The Pine Tree Development Zone (PTDZ) legislation supports new "qualified business activity" in Maine by offering manufacturers, financial service businesses and targeted technology companies the chance to greatly reduce, or in some cases virtually eliminate state taxes for a period up to ten years.

The City of Bath is located within the Southern Midcoast area, just 35 miles north of Portland.
