The City of Bath contracts with Pine Tree Waste for the curbside collection of trash and recyclables. The City pays for collection of trash from single-family homes and duplexes only. Apartments, businesses, bed & breakfasts and three-family or larger homes must arrange for private trash service. The curbside collection of recyclables is offered to all residents, regardless of the size of the dwelling. This includes multi-family buildings and bed & breakfasts. Please check the Recycling Page for more information.
Bath City Ordinance prohibits residents from bringing their household trash directly to the Landfill. The curbside collection service must be used.
Trash must be set out in official, blue City of Bath Pay-as-you-throw (PAYT) bags or it will not be collected. You may place other bags into your PAYT bags and you may place PAYT bags inside trash cans. PAYT bags are available at several Bath retailers. See the PAYT page for more details.
Up to 6 bags will be collected per week.
Requirements for trash containers:
Place trash at your curb no later than 7:00 AM the day of your collection and no earlier than 6:00 PM the night before.
Empty containers must be removed from curbside as soon as practicable.
Trash that has been disturbed by wind or animals is considered litter. It will not be picked up by the contractor and is the responsibility of the occupant.
